Only 99 left in stock

This listing is for a limited edition Giclee (Archival) Print of my original "Breathe Out" oil painting. The print is 8.5 x 11" and is printed, numbered, and signed by the artist. Each print comes with its own certificate of authenticity.

This painting is part of a diptych. They were painted in oils on canvas in 2011, and now reside in Hawaii. The originals are 56 X 66". The two paintings were inspired by a Taoist story about wanting to have control over the events in your life, and allowing them to control you and your emotions, when you always have the option to step away and let them slide past, leaving you unaffected.

There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. "Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"Maybe," the farmer replied. The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. "How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed.

"Maybe," replied the old man. The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune. "Maybe," answered the farmer. The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out. "Maybe," said the farmer.

A Giclee print is an archival reproduction of an original artwork, printed on an Inkjet printer. I print each print myself on an Epson printer, using Epson UltraChrome HD Inks (Archival, UV Resistant, Pigment based ink). I print using Archival Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper. Printing my own prints allows me to have full control over how each print turns out, so the colors and detail can be as close to the original as possible. An archival print will last for hundreds of years without fading!

This limited edition of 100 prints will be made to order - starting production in 2017. The print will be 8x10" on 8.5 x 11" paper. Numbered, titled, dated, and signed by the artist.

Each print is mailed in a plastic protective sleeve surrounded by cardboard and bubble wrap, and then slipped into a waterproof polybag mailer. This print does not come framed.
